Idaho Health Insurance Marketplace (2026)

Everything Idaho residents need to enroll in 2026 ACA / Obamacare coverage — your marketplace, the dates, and how to get free help.

Your marketplace

Idaho runs Your Health Idaho, its own state-based health insurance marketplace. That means you enroll, compare plans, and manage your coverage through Idaho's own website rather than the federal site — and your state may set its own special enrollment rules and deadlines.

2026 open enrollment dates

For 2026 coverage, open enrollment is October 15 – December 15 — the earliest and shortest open enrollment window in the country. All 2026 coverage starts January 1, so there is no mid-January extension: enroll by December 15 or you generally need a qualifying life event. Miss it and you generally need a qualifying life event (a move, job loss, marriage, or new baby) to enroll outside the window.

Who qualifies and how subsidies work

Almost anyone in Idaho who isn't on Medicare can buy a marketplace plan. Premium tax credits lower your monthly cost based on income and household size — many enrollees qualify for substantial savings, and the marketplace calculates it for you when you apply.

Get free help from a licensed agent

You don't have to figure this out alone, and help costs you nothing. A licensed health insurance agent compares Idaho plans, checks that your doctors and medications are covered, and enrolls you — paid by the carrier, not you. (See how agent help works on our ACA guide.)
